Originally selected by New Orleans 18th overall in 2004, Smith spent all 10 of his seasons in New Orleans, missing the 2013 season with a torn ACL. He played in 139 games and made 120 starts, with his games played total ranking 18th on the club’s all-time games played. From 2004-12, he posted 618 tackles, 67.5 sacks for a total loss of 445.5 yards, two interceptions, 19 forced fumbles and seven fumble recoveries. He was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2006 and was a member of the 2009 Super Bowl XLIV Championship team.
