In six seasons with New Orleans from 2001-2006, the hometown grown Lewis returned 142 punts for 1,482 yards (10.4 avg.) and one touchdown, as well as 243 kickoffs for 5,903 yards (24.3 avg.) and three touchdowns. He earned both a Pro Bowl berth and All-Pro honors in 2002 as a return specialist after setting an NFL record for combined kick-punt return yardage with 2,432 yards total (1,807 kickoff, 625 punt). He is currently the Saints' all-time career leader in punt returns (142) and punt return yardage (1,482).
