The second overall pick by New Orleans in the 1971 NFL Draft, Manning appeared in 134 games with 129 starts over 10 years from 1971-1981. He completed 1,849-of-3,335 passes (55.4 pct.) for 21,734 yards and 115 touchdowns. He was a two-time Pro Bowl selection, earning trips in 1978 and 1979. In 1978, he was named the NFC Player of the Year by United Press International. That same year, Archie was also named All-NFC by both the UPI and The Sporting News.
